Compare the sensing system and the service around it. Vayyar configuration can depend on the device and delivery partner; check the current proposal rather than treating one document as every available deployment.

Why put Stillsense on the shortlist?
Consider Stillsense when you want to evaluate Wi-Fi as the sensing foundation, on-device processing and a deployment designed around your existing network. These are reasons to explore a controlled trial. They do not yet prove fewer devices, easier installation or lower cost than radar. Ask us to demonstrate the fit in your rooms.
For municipalities and care providers
If you already have nurse-call or response systems, start with the exact alert path and who maintains it. Compare a proposed Stillsense pilot with the Vayyar configuration your supplier actually offers. Establish what happens when a device, network or service is unavailable.
- Ask for a room survey, device placement plan and supported integration list.
- Use the same event definitions to measure missed events, false alerts and response time.
- Document which data stays locally, which data leaves, retention, access and support responsibilities.
For families and people living at home
Both products remove the need to wear a device, but help still depends on a working response arrangement. Ask about the complete service available where you live. Stillsense Presence is in early access for presence and home automation; it is not a validated emergency service.
- Confirm local availability, installation and who will answer an alert.
- Ask what happens during a power or internet outage and which rooms are covered.
- Check ongoing fees and support with the actual service provider, not just the sensor manufacturer.
Questions before choosing
- Does Vayyar Care use cameras?
- No. Vayyar describes radar sensing without cameras. Stillsense is also camera-free. To compare privacy in practice, ask both suppliers about the derived activity data, access permissions, storage and retention.
- Is Wi-Fi sensing better than radar for fall detection?
- The sensing method alone does not answer that. Compare missed events, false alerts, coverage and response time under equivalent conditions. Stillsense has no head-to-head results against Vayyar Care and still requires independent fall-detection validation.
- Is Stillsense the only option for local deployment?
- No. Vayyar’s published product specifications also describe a partner-developed on-premises server option. Ask what the particular supplier supports today and which functions depend on cloud connectivity.
- Can I replace Vayyar Care with Stillsense without changing anything else?
- Do not assume a drop-in replacement. Sensor placement, alert integration and response workflows need their own assessment. Agree on a supported deployment and a trial plan before changing a care service.
